Key Facts About Away Team Bars in Atlanta

  • What this page is. A team-by-team index of away team bars in Atlanta: 29 bars, 36 fan bases and 20 neighborhoods in one list.
  • Leagues covered. 28 NFL teams and 8 college football teams have at least one confirmed Atlanta bar here. 3 NFL teams and 43 college teams are listed with no confirmed Atlanta bar. The Atlanta Falcons are the home team and are not listed, and neither is Georgia Tech, whose campus sits in Midtown. The University of Georgia, based in Athens, is treated as an away team.
  • What each entry shows. The bar’s name, its street address, the neighborhood it sits in, a map link and the source that ties it to the team. A bar that serves more than one team appears on each of those teams’ cards, which is why the page carries 42 team-by-team entries for 29 separate bars.
  • How a bar qualifies. Only bars confirmed as an official fan club or alumni game-watch bar, or reported in press coverage as that team’s Atlanta bar, are listed. Bars that could not be confirmed were left off, as were bars outside this directory’s coverage area — the City of Atlanta plus Decatur, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Chamblee, Doraville and Smyrna/Vinings, the same boundary this directory uses for apartment buildings.
  • Neighborhoods. Nine of this site’s neighborhood areas — Brookhaven, Buckhead, Chamblee / Doraville, Downtown, Midtown, Old Fourth Ward / Inman Park, Perimeter / Dunwoody / Sandy Springs, Vinings / Smyrna and West Midtown / Upper Westside — have at least one of these bars among or near their apartment buildings and are linked below.
  • How current it is. The list was last checked on October 6, 2026, and is re-checked once a year. Fan clubs and alumni chapters move between seasons, so confirm with the bar before kickoff.

How the Away Team Bars List Is Organized

The away team bars on this page are grouped by league and then by conference: the eight NFL divisions first, then the college conferences that have a confirmed Atlanta bar — SEC and Big Ten. Each team has its own card, headed with the team name, a disc carrying the team’s abbreviation, and the number of bars listed for it. The row of colored chips above the cards jumps straight to a team.

Three controls narrow the list: the NFL / College / Both tabs switch leagues, the search box matches a team, a bar or a neighborhood, and the neighborhood menu filters to one of the 20 neighborhoods represented. Those controls only hide and show cards that are already in the page, so every bar listed here is present in the page’s HTML whether or not JavaScript runs.

What This Away Team Bars List Does Not Cover

This is a record of where out-of-town fans watch, not a review of bars. It carries no ratings, no rankings and no recommendation of one bar over another, and it publishes no menus, prices, drink specials or game schedules. A bar appears here because a fan club, an alumni chapter or press coverage placed that team there — not because the team, the league or this site endorses it.

It is also not a census of Atlanta sports bars. Only bars tied to a specific out-of-town NFL or college football team are listed, and only where that tie could be confirmed, which is why 3 NFL teams and 43 college teams appear with no Atlanta bar. Soccer supporters’ clubs and other leagues are not covered. Team bars in Marietta, Kennesaw, Alpharetta, Duluth, Peachtree Corners, Snellville and other suburbs are outside this directory’s coverage and are left off, even where a fan club meets there. Each bar is linked to the neighborhood archive that holds most of this directory’s buildings within about three-quarters of a mile of it, measured in a straight line; the bars with no directory building that close — Black Bear Tavern, Creatwood Tavern & Rooftop, Gilly’s Sports Bar, Hudson Grille Sandy Springs, Kirkyard Public House, Monday Night Brewing – The Garage, Smith’s Olde Bar and Tin Roof Cantina — are still listed; they simply carry no directory link.

For the apartment buildings themselves, this site’s own pages are the fuller record: the A–Z building index lists every building in the directory, the Atlanta apartment building data page holds the aggregate figures, and the data update log records when those records last changed.

Before you go

Fan clubs and alumni chapters sometimes switch bars between seasons or pick a different spot for a big game, so check with the bar before kickoff. Some entries rest on press coverage from earlier seasons; the bars were confirmed open at the listed address on October 6, 2026, but the team tie may have moved. If you know of a change, write to chicagoapartmentbuildings@gmail.com. This list was last checked on October 6, 2026.
