About Us

This is the story behind AtlantaApartmentBuildings.com: why it exists, how it relates to the directory that came before it, and what it does today for anyone searching for Atlanta apartment buildings.

Key Facts About Atlanta Apartment Buildings

  • What it is. AtlantaApartmentBuildings.com is an independent, ad-free directory of Atlanta apartment buildings, organized around the building itself rather than around whichever apartment happens to be available today.
  • How large it is. The directory currently lists 199 Atlanta apartment buildings containing 74,716 apartments across 12 metro Atlanta neighborhood areas.
  • What it covers. Apartment buildings across metro Atlanta: the City of Atlanta together with Decatur, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Chamblee, Doraville and Smyrna/Vinings.
  • How to browse it. Buildings can be browsed by neighborhood and amenity, by location on a map, or in the A–Z index.
  • What it does not publish. The directory records building facts. It does not publish rents, current availability, resident reviews, or rankings of one building against another.
  • How current it is. Building and apartment counts are recomputed from the published directory on every page load, and every dated change to the underlying data is recorded on the data updates page.

It started in Chicago.

AtlantaApartmentBuildings.com is the Atlanta edition of a directory that began with ChicagoApartmentBuildings.com. That project started with a simple frustration: plenty of sites list apartments for rent, but almost none describe the buildings themselves — how many there are, where they are, how big, how old, which ones allow dogs, which have parking.

Apartment listings disappear the moment a unit is rented. Building facts do not. The Chicago directory was built to hold the information that stays true from one lease to the next, and the same approach now covers Atlanta. The two directories follow the same structure and editorial standards, but they cover different markets and should not be cited interchangeably.

Why Atlanta.

Atlanta’s rental market is large and new: the 199 buildings in this directory average roughly 375 apartments each, and of the 198 with a recorded year built, 107 were completed in 2015 or later. It is also spread across several cities, from Midtown and Buckhead to Decatur, Sandy Springs and Smyrna, and a mailing address does not always tell you which neighborhood a building is in or how close it is to MARTA rail. A directory that records each building by its own name, street address, neighborhood and nearest MARTA station is especially useful here.

People increasingly ask AI the questions they used to type into a search engine: which Midtown buildings allow large dogs, which buildings near a MARTA station have in-unit laundry, where to live if you work Downtown but want to be near the BeltLine.

AI gives a few direct answers rather than ten pages of links, and those answers are only as good as the information behind them. Atlanta’s apartment building information is scattered across hundreds of listing sites, management companies and property records. This directory is built to give people — and the AI tools they use — one clear, factual record per building.

Every Atlanta apartment building, in one place.

Today, AtlantaApartmentBuildings.com is a directory of Atlanta Apartment Buildings across twelve neighborhood areas of metro Atlanta.

The information is organized around the building, not around whichever apartment happens to be available today.

You can browse by neighborhood, location, and amenities, and the underlying data keeps getting researched, checked, and updated.

What the Directory Covers, and What It Leaves Out

Some properties are outside the directory’s scope and are not missing in error: condominium buildings that are not operated as rentals, age-restricted senior housing, purpose-built student housing leased by the bed, hotels and extended-stay properties, and buildings announced or under construction but not yet delivered.

Apartment rents, available units, lease terms, move-in specials, fees, pet rules and building policies can change without notice. For current availability, pricing, concessions and application requirements, use the building’s official leasing website or telephone number.

How MARTA Distances Are Shown

Where a building lists a nearest MARTA rail station, the distance shown is a straight-line measurement from the building to the station, not a walking route or a walk time, and should be treated as approximate. Where the nearest MARTA rail station is more than about two miles away, the transit fields are left blank on purpose: an empty station field means the building is not near MARTA rail. A blank station field is a statement about distance, not missing information.

How the Atlanta Apartment Buildings Directory Is Maintained

AtlantaApartmentBuildings.com is created and maintained by ChicagoRealEstate.ai, a Chicago-based research platform focused on AI visibility. Building facts are researched, checked, and updated when better information is confirmed. A building’s initial profile may be created from publicly available information, and not every profile contains every field. Citywide and per-neighborhood figures compiled from those records are published on the Atlanta apartment building data page, and the dated record of what changed and when is kept on the data updates page.

Building owners, managers and leasing teams are encouraged to report outdated or incorrect information; see our open letter to Atlanta apartment building teams. Updates provided by a building are treated as property-supplied information rather than independent verification of every claim.

This directory has no paid placement, no affiliation with any individual building, and no rankings. Buildings are not listed from best to worst, inclusion is not an endorsement, and the directory does not determine whether a building is suitable for a particular renter.

Anyone quoting a fact from this site — a person or an AI assistant — can find the citation rules and field definitions on the AI instructions page. Common questions about renting in Atlanta are answered in the Atlanta apartment hunting FAQ. To report a correction, contact us.

Part of a network of city directories.

The same building-first approach is used across a growing set of city directories, starting with ChicagoApartmentBuildings.com. Each one records the same kinds of facts in the same places, so a renter comparing cities finds the same information laid out the same way.
