Key Facts About the Atlanta Apartment Buildings Map

  • What it is: one interactive map of every apartment building recorded in this directory — 199 buildings holding 74,716 apartments — with a single pin for each building.
  • How it is filtered: a panel on the map lists the directory’s 12 neighborhood groupings as checkboxes, all switched on by default: Atlantic Station/Home Park, Brookhaven, Buckhead, Chamblee/Doraville, Decatur, Downtown, Grant Park/Summerhill/East Atlanta, Midtown, Old Fourth Ward/Inman Park, Perimeter/Dunwoody/Sandy Springs, Vinings/Smyrna, and West Midtown/Upper Westside.
  • What a pin shows: clicking a pin opens a card with the building name and the street address, plus a link to that building’s full listing page.
  • What the numbered circles mean: where buildings sit close together the map groups them into a numbered circle, and the number is how many buildings are inside it. Zooming in separates the circle into individual pins.
  • What the map does not carry: no rent, no pricing, no availability and no floor plans. This directory publishes none of those values, and a pin marks a building, not an apartment available to rent today.
  • Where the fuller record lives: each pin links to a listing page that records the building’s neighborhood, year built, apartment count, floors, amenity fields and, where one is within about two miles, the nearest MARTA rail station. The aggregate building data and the alphabetical A–Z index of every building are published separately.

How to Use the Atlanta Apartment Buildings Map

Each pin represents one building in the directory, and every pin uses the same marker, so pin color does not encode a neighborhood or a category. Where several buildings sit close together the map groups them into a numbered circle; zoom in and that circle separates into individual pins.

Click any pin to open a card with the building name and the street address, then follow the link on the card to the building’s full listing page. Drag the map to move between intown Atlanta and the surrounding cities, and use the zoom control in the corner to move in and out. On mobile the map works the same way: pinch to zoom in on a cluster, tap a pin, and tap through to the listing.

Five groupings hold 116 of the directory’s 199 buildings: Midtown and Buckhead with 28 each, and Old Fourth Ward/Inman Park, West Midtown/Upper Westside and Perimeter/Dunwoody/Sandy Springs with 20 each. Midtown and Buckhead hold the tallest buildings on average, at 26.9 and 14.0 floors. By contrast, Vinings/Smyrna, Perimeter/Dunwoody/Sandy Springs and Chamblee/Doraville have the largest buildings by apartment count — 601, 565 and 445 units on average — while averaging under five floors per building. Vinings/Smyrna, the westernmost grouping on the map, is the only one where no building is within about two miles of a MARTA rail station. Each neighborhood also has its own page listing every building in it, if you would rather browse without the map.

What the Atlanta Apartment Buildings Map Does Not Show

The map is a location index, not a rental listings feed. It carries no rent figures, no pricing, no availability and no floor plans, because this directory does not publish those values on any page. A pin means the building exists and is recorded here; whether an apartment is open in it, and on what terms, is a question for that building’s own leasing office.

The map is also not a census of every rental building in metro Atlanta. The directory covers apartment buildings in the City of Atlanta plus Decatur, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Chamblee, Doraville and Smyrna/Vinings; non-rental condominiums, age-restricted senior housing, by-the-bed student housing, hotels and extended-stay properties, and buildings not yet delivered sit outside its scope by design. For the same recorded set in alphabetical order, see the A–Z building index, or search the full directory by building name, neighborhood and the five recorded amenities: pet friendly, in-unit laundry, in-building parking, air conditioning, and gym or fitness center.
