Decatur Apartment Buildings

Decatur is its own city and the seat of DeKalb County, about five miles northeast of Downtown Atlanta. Its center is the old courthouse square, and the Decatur MARTA station sits underground just off it on Church Street. Two more Blue line stations, East Lake to the west and Avondale on East Ponce de Leon Avenue to the east, also serve the city. The Stone Mountain Trail and the Decatur PATH pass through for walking and cycling, and Agnes Scott College and Columbia Theological Seminary are both inside the city limits.

The 12 buildings in this directory hold about 4,200 apartments, built between 1970 and 2026. They fall into two groups. Around the square and the Avondale station are newer mid-rise buildings: AMLI Decatur (330 units, 2019) is about 500 feet from the Decatur station, and Connect Decatur (378 units, 2018), HALO (370 units, 2026) and Notion (290 units, 2022) are all within a quarter mile of Avondale. Connect Decatur and HALO, at eight floors, are the tallest buildings listed here.

Away from the stations, along North Druid Hills Road, Clairmont Road, Church Street and DeKalb Industrial Way, the buildings are lower, three to five floors. Arden Vue (476 units, 1984) is the biggest building in this group, and Domain & Gateway at Cedar (1970) is the oldest. Arden Vue, Domain & Gateway at Cedar and Decatur Highlands have no MARTA rail station within reach. Note that the 30033 ZIP code also covers unincorporated DeKalb County communities such as North Decatur, so a Decatur mailing address does not always mean a building is inside the city.
